Family Therapy
Family Therapy is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on the improvement of interfamilial relationships and behaviors. This can help family members improve communication, bridge the gap between misunderstandings, and deepen connections among the members that come and engage in session.
Family therapy can be useful for any situation that causes stress, grief, anger, or conflict.
This can include:

-
Adjusting to a new life change (like moving) or a medical condition
-
Life transitions that come with the natural developmental stages (becoming a teen, moving out, aging, etc.)
-
Death and grief
-
Blending a family
-
Relationship conflicts between parents & children
-
Relationship conflicts between siblings
*If there is a parent-parent conflict, that needs to be worked out in couples counseling, even if the parents are separated or divorced. Children do not need to be part of caregivers conflicts.

Family therapy is more likely to work if those participating are open and honest with the therapist, committed to making positive changes, follow their agreed-upon treatment plan, and are ready to fully commit to therapy and continue the work outside of therapy.
If you & your family aren't ready, that's okay! We're here for you when you are.
